Chocolate chip cookies are classic. Chocolate chip cookies are timeless. Chocolate chip cookies never go out of style.
That’s how I settled on the message for these super cute Valentine’s Day printables. Taylor Swift may have also sent a little inspiration my way (if you’re all up-to-date on 1989).

Graphic design is something I’ve always been interested. It started with my Piczo website, circa eighth grade, and grew from there.
I’m so envious of people who have this natural ability to draw and design.
It’s something I really have to work at. I get so excited when I can see my own progress.
The photography for this blog is similar to that. When I know a photo looks good, I absolutely cannot wait to edit it. When I know it looks bad, I want to eat the whole tray of whatever I’m shooting out of spite.
These cookies make my job easy.
They are the big, buttery chewy kind. The kind you see near the cash at the cafe in a beautiful, domed display case when you’re buying your coffee. You think, “Wouldn’t a cookie be so nice with this?”
The answer is, of course, always yes. Cookies make everything nicer.
Before we go any further, I’ll warn you that these cookies need to be chilled. I know, I know. You are on a deadline and need cookies – fast.
These beauties are worth every minute they spend firming up in the fridge. I promise.
Take your time. Watch Netflix (is anyone else bingeing their way through Santa Clarita Diet?) Organize your cupboards.
Then, pop these cookies into the oven and watch them work their magic.
You could make these cookies smaller, but I love this big, beautiful pancake size. You can say, “Oh, I’m only having one cookie.” And no one can ask how big said cookie is.
This is a triple-chip recipe (milk, white and semi-sweet). However, that’s completely up to you. If you only have one of the three on hand, just use two cups of whatever you have around the house.
You could also throw in pecans or walnuts or caramel morsels. It’s such a customizable cookie – everything is up to you.
Did I mention it’s a one-bowl recipe? Goodbye dishes. Hello better things to do!

THE BEST CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
MAKES 20 BIG COOKIES
1 cup of softened butter
1 cup of brown sugar
2/3 cup of white sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup of white chocolate chips (optional)
1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- Cream softened butter, sugar and salt together using a stand or handheld mixer. All vanilla and eggs. Mix again.
- Add cinnamon and 1 cup of flour. Mix. Add remaining flour and baking soda. Mix again.
- On a low setting or folding by hand, add your chocolate chips. If you only have one kind, just add 2 cups of whatever you have on hand!
- Roll dough into 20 balls. Place in the freezer, separated by parchment paper and freeze for at least two hours. You can also freeze the dough until ready to use.
- Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookie is golden around the outside. It will spread out quite a bit, so place them at least 2-3 inches apart.
- Cool and enjoy!
